Belgian street artist ROA, touched down in beautiful Gambia, leaving behind a mural of his trademark exotic animals. With a child-like imagination layered with a dark and unorthodox twist, ROA is amazing at structuring these animals in a way where their presence is esthetically inviting; almost if they belong in their infiltrating space.
This project was created in partnership with WOW, an organization founded by Lawrence Williams of the Gambian conservation group Makasutu. In the past, WOW and Write on Africa has been known to collaborate with street artists that travel Africa (last stop South Africa) leaving their art behind in hopes of raising money for the villages they blessed, though the publication of a book.
This is just beautiful.
